Miracle?

Miracle:  an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.

The parting of the Red Sea for the Israelites.  Causing the "sun to stand" still so the Israelites "avenged itself on its enemies".  Raising Lazarus from the dead.  These are examples of Biblical miracles.  All big, all very public.  However, I experienced a personal miracle last night.

I went to bed with a very heavy heart.  Several things in my life are in a state of flux or unrest.  I woke this morning with such a positive outlook, attitude and disposition, that I have no doubt that overnight there was a "divine intervention in human affairs".

I know there were prayers being offered up and that, coupled with the unconditional love, unstoppable power and perfect wisdom of my heavenly Father created a 180 degree turn in my innards last night.  It had nothing to do with positive self-talk, chakra alignment, or self-induced positive mental attitude.  There had not been the time, and quite frankly I was sort of wallowing in the mire of self-pity.  The overnight change was completely achieved through God's overnight intervention in my life.

Thank you, Fathers (heavenly and earthly).

  1. Praise the Lord for Him being the God of changed innards. But be careful. You are beginning to sound like one of these people who actually believe that God really does care and intervene.

Another thought...You have talked about witnessing to the unsaved (or those whose salvation was so long ago that there is little evidence of it.) Some of the books you have been reading talk of "radical" sacrifices in order to witness effectively.

Is God using poor decisions that have been made in the life of someone you love to bring him back into your sphere of influence so that he can hear a message at home that he did not hear five years ago? Is He really the God of second (and third and 70 x 7 chances?)

And on that subject, maybe it is also a grandfather's second chance!!!

Remember the part from the Disney movie Alladin where Alladin is meeting the genie for the first time. The genie tells him there are two things he (genie) can not do. (1) Kill someone and (2) Make someone love another person.

That is why God is better than a Robin Williams genie. He CAN cause us to love people, even people who irritate the dickens out of us.
